Urlbox alternative

An Urlbox alternative that publishes its limits

If the job is an artifact inside a product you ship, compare the parts your integration depends on: render options, delivery, error codes and what a failed capture costs. Where Urlbox is the safer answer — evidence and compliance work — this page says so instead of arguing.

Stay where you are if

The job is evidence or compliance work that needs archival guarantees or a certification. We make no forensic claim, and this page will not pretend otherwise.

Move here if

The artifact goes inside a product you ship, and you need the render contract, the action order and the limits published.

What moving looks like: Change the base URL and key, map the device presets and options, then re-run the pages that are hardest today — long ones, authenticated ones, unusual fonts.

Versioned device presets

Viewport, scale, touch and user agent move together as a named preset. A preset is added, never edited — its version is part of the cache key, so yesterday's artifact stays reproducible.

Delivery without changing render options

The same request can return bytes, poll a durable request, write to your bucket or arrive by signed webhook. Delivery is not a different product tier.

The action order is public

Cookies, headers, blockers, waits, selectors, scripts and capture run in a documented order that cannot change inside a major version. Reproducibility is a contract, not a behaviour to discover.

Success-based billing

A credit exists only behind a successful, non-cached capture. Failures, including ours, are free.

What this costs here

Priced on successful captures that miss cache

Every number in this table is computed from the published plans — failures and organization-scoped cache hits are removed before the plan is chosen, because they are not billable.

ScenarioBillable successesSmallest included planPublished monthly price
5,000 renders per month4,410Growth$47.00

Assumes 10% cache hits and 2% failures. Change either assumption and the billable count changes with it — that is the point of charging for success.

These figures are quoted from each vendor's own pricing page, with the date we last checked it. They are not converted to our billing unit, because they do not measure the same thing.

Questions this raises

Is PageCapture affiliated with Urlbox?

No. PageCapture is an independent product with its own implementation. Urlbox is a trademark of its owner and is mentioned only to describe the comparison people are searching for.

Is it a drop-in replacement?

Do not assume that. Map the documented contract, change the base URL and key, then validate your own representative pages — long ones, authenticated ones, the ones with unusual fonts — before shifting production traffic.

What about evidence and compliance workloads?

We make no forensic or compliance claim. If your use case needs archival guarantees, chain of custody or a specific certification, evaluate that requirement directly with a vendor that sells it — this page will not pretend we do.

What is missing today?

There is no managed proxy pool behind ip_country_code and no GPU pool behind request_gpu_rendering, and checkout is not wired to a merchant of record yet. If your migration depends on any of those, this is not the moment to move.
